What's New at Liberty Mountain - Fall 2012
Liberty Mountain Resort is truly a four season resort! Below is
an overview of this season's upgrades. In addition to what is
listed below, we are also continuing to develop the new master
plans for the future of our resort and we look forward to sharing
those with you in the coming months! There is a lot of
excitement ahead at Liberty Mountain - we look forward to having
you with us as the future unfolds.
This was a summer of playing 'catch up'. Our staff has been busy
on a lot of little projects that keep the resort looking fresh and
ready for our guests. Fresh coats of paint, re-grading of lift
unload areas, improvements to dining and menu offerings, and these
standout projects…
Children's Learning Center
The reception and check-in area of the Children's Learning
Center received a makeover last summer - this summer the indoor
children's play area and Camp Room follows suit. Totally new décor,
remodeled restrooms and new furnishings give the area a whole new
look. The kids will be especially delighted by the wall art crafted
completely with Burton youth snowboards!
New Mobile Website
Smart phone users will appreciate the new Liberty Mountain
Resort mobile website. All the resort information and features you
need the most are right at your finger tips in this user friendly
interface.
Burton Riglet Park
Gone are the days of kids being 'too young' to snowboard! With
Burton's new 80cm boards equipped with a Riglet reel, kids as young
as three can be learning to balance, turn and 'shred' with the help
of an instructor. The Riglet reel is a special cord attached to the
toe of the snowboard that enables the snowboard instructor to lead
the child across appropriate terrain. Located in the base area,
Liberty's Riglet Park is a specialized, super cool area of flat
terrain designed for kids ages 3-6 where instructors are able to
provide an introduction to snowboarding. The Riglet Park will be
available on weekends and select midweek days. Children in the
Riglet Park must be accompanied by an instructor, and reservations
may be made through the Snowboard School main desk.
In other Liberty/Burton News…Liberty's Snowboard School
Supervisor Jesse Cleveland has been working very closely with
Burton. Jesse will be traveling to other Burton Women's Center
Resorts sharing her expertise with other instructors on how to best
develop successful women snowboarding programs at their resorts.
Jesse was also named one of the industry's 'Top 10 Under 30' by Ski
Area Management (SAM) Magazine.
Cool New Terrain Park Features
Liberty has partnered with terrain park designers and
fabricators, Destoy Labs of Maine. The folks at Destoy are all
shredders themselves, and are designing multiple features and a
park layout for Liberty that will be sure to have all park riders
stoked.
Boulder Ridge Party Rooms and Arcade Area
Our snow tubing party rooms are going to be even better this
year with a new design and furnishings. Snow Tubing parties have
always been a blast - this fresh look will make them even
better!
Carroll Valley Golf Course
Our third summer of golf course operations has brought even more
course enhancements. Throughout the course we have replaced all
signage and yardage markers as well as installed new water coolers.
This spring we welcomed a new superintendent, Matthew Hopper. Matt
comes to Liberty with many years of turf management education and
experience, and has already begun to make great improvements to the
course. While the projects ahead are many and some are long-term,
golfers are already appreciating his influence which is apparent
everywhere on the course.
Liberty Hotel
February will usher in the next phase of hotel room renovations.
Twenty rooms on the ski side will be receiving a complete
top-to-bottom remodel to include the entire bathroom, elevated
ceilings, and all new all furnishings and décor.
