What's New at Liberty Mountain - Fall 2013
There are truly some grand changes on the horizon at Liberty
Mountain Resort! Below is an overview of this season's upgrades, as
well as a sneak peak at some of the exciting things we have in
store over the next few years. We look forward to having you with
us as the future unfolds!
Carroll Valley Golf Course
Over the course of summer 2013 we are installing a complete new
state-of-the-art irrigation system to the entire golf course. The
installation is being done by industry specialist Tanto Irrigation,
who has done work at courses like Augusta National, Congressional
Country Club and Pine Valley. This 1.2 million dollar fully
automated system will be completely installed and operational by
the end of August 2013.
Additional golf course improvements include the clearing of old
growth and brush, and seeding fringe areas with wildflowers that
will bloom throughout the summer. We have also added the '9th Hole
Grill' at the turn for those looking for a quick and convenient
bite to eat or beverage.
On the Mountain
We continue our multi-year project of fully automating and
optimizing our snowmaking system. We are constantly upgrading these
systems with the 'best in the industry' technology so we can
provide our guests the most optimal snow conditions all season
long, despite what Mother Nature tosses at us.
The base area and area under the Alpine Quad will look much
different this season as we clear some trees to make way for some
additional skiable terrain. We are also relocating the A-Frame
Chalet from the base of the East Side Park to the Alpine Quad
mid-station area. This will create a much larger snow bowl area and
more terrain in between the terrain park area the base area.
Even Better Amenities
Skiers, boarders and spectators alike will be able to cozy up to
a night warm slopeside fire with the addition of fire pits on both
the Alpine Patio and at the South Pole on the backside of the
Advanced skiers will appreciate the addition of a fleet of
performance rental skis from Elan and Rossignol. Available through
the Liberty Ski Rental shop, these advanced level skis will be
available in a range of sizes for both men and women. And if you
love them…you can even buy them!
Hotel guests no longer need to wonder what to do with damp socks
and gloves - a coin operated washer & dryer is being added for
our lodging guests.
In the winter of 2014 the next chapter in Liberty Mountain's
story will begin with the beginning of construction on a new grand
lodge which will replace the existing Carroll Valley Clubhouse
building. This beautiful new facility will feature a ballroom,
several meeting rooms, an indoor pool, 30 suites, and two
restaurants, all with stunning views of the Carroll Valley golf
course and surrounding valley. This multi-million dollar project is
expected to take about 12 months. The new building will bring along
with it an improved entrance to the resort as well as additional
public spaces and guest amenities, some of which will be introduced
for the 2014-15 winter season! If you are interested in pre-booking
any of this new space for an upcoming event, please ask any of our
sales associates for more information. Once construction begins you
will be able to follow the progress right here online!
